OCS Social Night tips & Vintage Studio

"What to wear for OCS social night"? This is something that I've asked Google many times. If you're here fretting over what to wear as well, DO NOT PANIC.

I've attended 3 social nights so far (one of it for a commissioning ball), and thought it may be good to share some tips. If you don't already know, OCS stands for Officer Cadet School, an abbreviation in which all Singaporean men would recognise.

There were a few ladies who went without putting on make-up and they really stood out because everyone was really dressed up for the formal occasion. In rare occasions, some wore long pants and a shirt, though I would not recommend that. Please be reminded to consider the venue when you dress up. I remember seeing ladies dresses soaked in sweat when the venue was in the outdoors of the SAFTI camp!

However, the recent one I went for was air-conditioned and some ladies who wore tube-dresses could be seen shivering!

The simplest protocol: Dress + Heels + Clutches. 

 I also met my pretty church friend Becky in the event, Hooray!

Before the event, I went to dye my hair at VINTAGE STUDIO which took approximately 2 hours.  

I love how they did it extremely professionally, checking the colour at the roots and the tail and swiping the hair dye in strands.

My hairstylist, Sam, repeated the procedures about 4 times patiently because the chemicals could not sink in.

He also curled my hair for free! I love the shine that comes off from the hair dye (even though I didn't had the time to do treatment).

 Vintage Studio (Westgate Branch) is having a promotion for Hair Coloring at only $58 nett, regardless of Hair Length and I would recommend Sam to be your hairstylist. His charges may be more expensive because he is a senior hairstylist from Malaysia!
