No Signboard Seafood: Best Chilli Crab in Singapore
If you're a tourist curious about some of the must-try culinary delights in Singapore, I would proudly declare Chilli Crab as one of our prized possessions. Despite its name, this dish is not spicy at all! One of my favourite chilli crab is No Signboard Seafood's version. If you don't already know, they derived their name from the literal lack of a signboard back in the 80s.
No Signboard Restaurant Dining Area
The dining concept remains traditional, with a lazy susan placed at the centre of each table.
Salad You-tiao - SGD15.00
Whenever I eat Zi Char, salad you-tiao will definitely be a must-have. In my opinion, No Signboard's Salad You-tiao definitely ranks among the best in Singapore. Crispy on the outside and juicy within, the Salad You-tiao provided a burst of flavour in my mouth. I really love how they added fragrant sesame seeds as well.
Chili Crab — SGD66.00
The price varies according to the weight of your crab. Mine was large enough to be shared between two people. Remember to bring along your wet tissues because it sure gets messy!
Steamed Buns (Man Tou) - SGD0.50 each
These Steamed buns go really well with the savoury, semi-viscous tomato and chilli-based sauce. I certainly regret not getting more!
Look at the vast amount of flesh you can extract from its claws! The meat was tender, juicy, flaky, tantalising. The list of adjectives goes on...
Ee-fu noodle — SGD20.00
The noodles exude an enticing sheen. The glossiness of the noodles aptly reflects the remarkability of this dish.
The strands of noodle do not clump together, instantly earning the dish mushroom brownie points. While chewing, a strong fragrant flavour emanated from the noodles. If you hear any loud slurping, that's probably because someone in the restaurant ordered these delectable noodles.
As a plus point, the restaurant offers a magnificent panoramic view of the Singapore River. :)
If you're planning to dine in No Signboard Seafood, here are some tips:
1. Request for a window seat so that you can enjoy some magnificent view!
2. Visit the washroom beforehand as the toilets are located at the far end of the other side of the mall.
3. Choose the tea if you're really thirsty — they provide free refills.
4. Do bring along wet tissues if you're ordering the crab.
