7 Must-go-to Cafes in Singapore for 2014

With the explosion of cafes in the local scene, each cafe must tactfully position itself in order to fight off competition. Yet, I can't help but feel that all cafes share one thing in common – aura. Don't you feel that cafes emit an unexplainable feeling? Whether you're a seasoned cafe hopper or a newbie explorer, here's a list of 7 different specially-themed cafes to make 2014 a glorious one.

1. Cat Cafe Neko no Niwa
The award goes to them of having the boldness to position themselves as the first cat cafe. Surely someone must have thought of that earlier. A purrfect place to unwind with coffee and cats, there is an hourly rate apart from your F&B purchases. Overlooking the river, Cat Cafe grants a sense of tranquility as you can be close to nature in an urban setting. Do make your reservations early to avoid disappointment!

2. Wheelers' Yard
First and foremost, Wheelers' Yard sells hipster bicycles in an industrial area before recently acquiring an F&B license. It has now transformed the bicycle store into a warehouse chic with vintage furniture. You can either purchase one of their pricey yet stylish single-speed bicycles or select from a simple menu of all-day breakfasts, sandwiches, pies and burgers. Consider the greatly detailed ambience that this lofty-looking warehouse provides.

3. Anthesis
Nestled in Robertson Blue along Robertson Quay, Anthesis serves a great selection of artisan tea and customized coffee blends. It always comes up with great savouries that are of healthier choice, such as their White Acai Berry Jelly. If you want to soak in some sun and dine by the riverside, Anthesis is the right place to go. It definitely reminds me of the cafes I've been to in Europe.

4. Lola's Cafe
Lola is such a playful name, isn't it? Sure enough, the cafe is a delightfully casual environment where you can have honest conversations with your friend. The cafe smells of great food and freshly ground coffee. This is no hipster cafe as there are no frills in their ambience. However, you can definitely sense their sincerity in their service.

  1. I didn't want to throw away/donate my stuff especially not my old mementos, like high school yearbooks, old photo albums, etc. So I needed a storage space to keep all this.
