Media Launch: Paradise Inn Revamped Menu
A charming restaurant with authentic and affordable food, Paradise Inn brings the traditional Chinese inn concept to a new level of sophistication with a contemporary Oriental ambience. This concept of a restaurant, teahouse and dessert house rolled into one is an ideal choice for casual meals with friends and family.
We had a 'feasting' good time with Paradise Inn! |
Paradise Inn recently launched their new menu, and I had the opportunity to have an intimate food tasting session with my lovely parents at the Marina Square outlet. I felt like I was teleported through time with the ancient Chinese decorations in the restaurant, slightly similar to those at Paradise Dynasty. After all, they belong to the same Paradise Group!
Brand new menu recently launched in June |
Starter
Stewed Pork Belly with Lotus Bun (S$2.60 each)
Appetiser
Teochew style crisp fried prawn roll (S$8.90)
One of the must-haves in Paradise Inn is the Teochew style crisp fried prawn roll. Each plate has about 4-5 pieces, and is accompanied by an in-house sweet sauce The flakes do not fall apart easily so you don't have to worry about messy dining.
The fillings of the prawn roll worked really well together, resulting in fragrant and delicious rolls.
Traditional Double-Boiled Soup
Double-boiled spare ribs with pumpkin and dried oyster soup (S$23.90)
This huge pot of double-boiled soup can easily be shared amongst a group of four. Huge cubes of pumpkin are clearly visible in the soup, and each sip provided fireworks of flavours in my mouth. Clearly, this is one of the best soups I have ever tasted.
The chunks of spare ribs were really lean and porky — there were no tendons and fats that you have to tediously clear with chopsticks. It's an ideal healthier choice!
Vegetables
Chinese Spinach with Egg Trio (S$13.90)
Meat / Poultry
San Bei Venison in Claypot (S$14.90)
See how the meat is cooked to a mostly-brown and slightly-pink colour. In my opinion, it tasted better than most beef steaks, and was really chewy.
Rice
Supreme Seafood Fried Rice (S$12.90)
Floral & Herb-infused Hot Tea
Forget-Me-Not with Lily Tea (S$3.80)
This pot of Forget-Me-Not with Lily tea contains natural sugar and its sweet fragrance calms and soothes my muscles. There are lots of antioxidant benefits in this mixture, and I love that they keep it warm with the candle stand.
Fruit-infused Iced Tea
Elderflower and Melon Tea (S$3.80)
One of my favourites was the Elderflower and Melon Tea. Although it was extremely sweet at the start, each sip turned more and more refreshing, such that I almost wanted to gulp my way through. There is a spoonful of fresh melon too, and I felt the fruits used injected natural sweetness to the drink.
