1-year old Muchachos
Muchachos is a place born out of desperation by its founder, Jonathan Yang. A lack of delectable American burrito offerings made him switch gear — from being a PR consultant to a burrito expert. Believing that they offer the Best Burritos in town, this one-year old eatery just had their anniversary on June 28. One year is all it takes to bring much life and zest to the quaint old Keong Saik Road.
The Muchachos concept is really simple — you choose a Quesadilla or a Burrito, and select the meat of your choice. The way they dress things up is like having 'Cai Fan / Economical Rice' in a hawker centre — you get to see the service crew add the various ingredients before finally paying at the counter.
Carnitas (Pork) Burrito - S$12.95
The Carnitas (Boston butt slow-cooked in lard) was pulled into strips and drowned in spices. This was accompanied by rice with various types of beans such as black beans and refried beans, as well as guacamole, salsa, salsa verde and habanero sauce. Guacamole is charged at an additional S$1.75.
Unless you're famished, share the burrito with your partner. It's so filling that we had to take a break from eating.

Carnitas (Pork) Burrito - S$12.95
You can easily customise your burrito by working the details out with the staff. It can get really messy with each bite, as the juices would spurt out of the burrito like a water jet.
Carne Asada (Beef) Quesadilla - S$11.55
I thought Muchachos fared better in crafting a flavoursome Burrito as compared to a Quesadilla. You can't see how your Quesadilla is made as they prepare it in an interior kitchen. I thought the ingredients were rather loosely packed. There were lots of empty spaces as I bit into it.
I'd also prefer that they cut the quesadilla into two, but I must admit that the beef is worth queuing for. It added a flavoursome punch and the sour cream was absolutely heavenly! They were rather stingy on the cheese though.
