It was a wonderful evening spent with 1933, a new restaurant in the neo-classical building. Thanks to The Influencer Network, we were invited to try the finest renditions of 1930s cuisines such as the Nanyang Curry Chicken in a bread bowl and Hainanese Kampong Chicken Rice. These are truly food that Singaporeans are proud of, and I'm glad to feast in the flavours of this old-meets-new Southeast Asian flavour.

Nanyang Curry Chicken |
The Nanyang Curry Chicken is tastefully done! It is filled with extremely tender chicken chunks, soft potato chunks and carrots. The aromatic curry was enough to make me wolf down spoonful after spoonful and leave all table manners aside. I would highly recommend you to try this!

Sawadee Greens |
I was clueless as to why the Sawadee Greens is on the menu — did this dish appear in Singapore during the 1930s? Anyway, the distinct Thai flavours is too sour for my liking, though my lovely friends on the table thought that it was delicious! I prefer something more light and less acidic.

Pandan Cske with Gula Melaka |
Nothing beats the fragrant aroma of panda leaves and the soft spongy chiffon texture in my mouth.

Hainanese Kampong Chicken Rice |
Served with ginger, this traditionally-made kampong chicken rice features a delectably tender and juicy chicken meat. The rice was mildly fragrant!

I loved the white marble tables and vintage wooden chairs. If the ambience and food truly reflects how 1933 used to be like, I wish I was born at that age!
