Opened in July this year,
AMUSE Dine & Bar is a casual buffet restaurant serving local delights at wallet-friendly prices. The buffet is so affordable that you can have multiple rounds of this each week. My partner and I decided to give the Weekend Taunch Buffet a try since we usually pass by the restaurant several times. Reservations were made and we had very conservative expectations because after all, it's probably the
cheapest hotel buffet in Singapore.

The starters section did not disappoint — there was a wide selection of protein and carbohydrates, including a salad section for the health-conscious. Don't miss the satay, egg quiche and soba with bonito flakes. The mould of the Kueh Pie Tie was crispy but the ingredients were a tad too salty — most likely because of the oyster sauce seasoning. The tapas servings made it really easy for us to try a variety of different foods!
Live Cooking Station: The Heritage Pork & Prawn Noodles
The live cooking station is not very obvious — a small plague holder is located behind the beverages counter. You can get it dry or soup and they'll ask if you want to add in stuff like chili etc. Unfortunately, the cooking was not done right in front of us (we had a sideway view) which defeated the purpose of a live station. Food-wise, the broth was flavourful but there was too little pork on the bone. The flesh of the prawns was not easily removed even though it was deveined!
Mains Section: Yong Tau Foo, Chicken Curry with Potato, Fragrant Prawn, Mushroom Dumpling, Pork Belly, steamed buns, curry chicken and more...

While the mains section was pretty mediocre, there was a unique selection of local food. I wondered how the restaurant could make money because there were so much food — and apparently, the spread is shared between breakfast and lunch-goers with an innovative use of ingredients so they can still remain profitable!

There was a wide spread of desserts consisting of cakes, kuehs and even though not shown in photos, there is also a tray for cheeses. The desserts ended the buffet session on a sweet note — the cream puff is a must-try and so is the gula melaka ball. Be warned though, the gula melaka ball is very sweet and should only be consumed once!
Beverages
Aside from freshly ground coffee and teabags, the drinks selection in A*MUSE Dine & Bar is pretty limited. Service at A*MUSE Dine & Bar was efficient — they clear the plates almost immediately and are very attentive to your needs. We'd go back again!
