Seng Huat Hainanese Chicken Rice Review

This is pretty much a hidden find — no reviews have covered the coffeeshop located at Dover Rd. Catering to the residents of the neighbourhood, there are hardly any crowd despite 'peak lunch hours'. These days, you can hardly find a coffee shop without chatter or smoking customers and Blk 32 Coffeeshop makes an exception to the list. Office workers and church-goers need not fret about not getting a seat. Another advantage is that you can sit as long as you like without getting chased away! One of my favourite from this coffeeshop would be the Seng Huat Hainanese Chicken Rice. Located only a train stop away from New Creation Church and a road away from Aldersgate Methodist Church, there would be ample time to fellowship over a delectable and affordable meal.

Roast Chicken (2 Pax) - SGD5.00

Roasted fresh daily, the chicken is one of the most flavoursome and juicy meat I have eaten. The store owner is extremely generous with his servings. Each chunk of chicken is thoroughly tender, topped with a slight drizzle of Seng Huat's special sauce that enhances the flavour of the chicken. A slice of tomato, parsley and pieces of cucumber provides great accompaniment to the dish.

Roasted Chicken Rice — SGD2.50 / SGD3.00

What you're seeing is the $2.50 portion, which I felt it was more than enough to fill one's tummy. The rice was kept warm and a whiff of its' fragrance tells me that the store owner must have an authentic Hainanese chicken rice recipe.

Vegetables - SGD2.00
The nutty sesame sauce drizzled on the vegetables was a great complement to the chicken rice. Slightly strong in flavour, the vegetables were fresh as if just farmed.
