Happy hour at Java+ | Singapore Marriott

Happy Hours aren’t limited to beers and cocktails. Java+, a cafe selling artisan breads, desserts and pastries at Marriott Hotel, has special promotions at certain times of the day! The delectable items are crafted DAILY by their own team of pastry chefs and bakers to ensure you enjoy only the freshest from Marriott Hotel. The cool and tranquil ambience at Java+ makes it an ideal spot for afternoon tea.

If you're an avid dessert or pastry lover, you won't be disappointed by the wide range of options Java+ has to offer. Their desserts come in so many forms that I stood there for more than 10 minutes trying to decide what to splurge my calorie count on.

They also make hot and cold drinks using a powerful espresso machine. The open concept of the drinks station allows you to get up close with the baristas; you can see how they carefully detail your coffee and ensure you get only the freshest!

I bought the Tiramisu and Berry Parfait. The dessert jars (aka Little Indulgences) are given to you for free (that's right— you may take home the jars and use them for your own purposes).

Tiramisu

When I opened the glass jar, water droplets quickly formed on top of the chocolate bars. This tells me that Java+ keep their desserts really cold. The Tiramisu had a rich cocoa flavour and just the right level of sponginess. It was really light, and I regretted not buying more of the same Tiramisu. It's probably one of the best Tiramisus I've ever had, but the portion was too small for me.

Berry Parfait

If you love to send chills down your spine, this blend of sweetness and tartness is the best combination to satisfy your dessert craving. 

Bacon, Ham and Egg Quiche, Spinach Quiche

Of course, we couldn't miss out on the offer of 2 savoury items for only S$8.00. Be cautious in handling the quiche because the crust breaks apart easily. Our tastebuds could tell that they had beaten the eggs to utmost fluffiness, because they were soft yet strong in flavour.

I preferred the Spinach quiche as it brought out a strong and fragrant taste of eggs and spinach. Both quiches were not too oily, so they were a joy to eat!
