The wait staff has great knowledge of the food and beverages that the bar serves. We asked a few questions and he was able to provide more information that we asked for. I thought this was noteworthy as many of the places we visited had wait staff which had no idea about their food. We sometimes ask for recommendations and the wait staff usually just points us to the highest priced item on the menu — but when we dig deeper and ask about the ingredients that go into the dish, the wait staff would usually be clueless. Not so for O Comptoir!

The place specialises in galettes (buckwheat flour) and crepes (wheat flour). The flours are imported from a small mill in Brittany region (north-west of France). The menu is highly customisable — simply inform the wait staff if you have any allergies or are following a particular food diet. We both loved the camembert galette (S$14), which comes as a dish of fried camembert, tomato, apple and pumpkin seeds. The Ménage à 3 (S$14) is pretty simple as it's only made up of emmental cheese, ham and egg. Bae promised that he will bring me back again to the place... because we enjoyed the food there so much :) I can't wait!
