Squid Game on ZOOM? Here's how to have fun over Halloween.

I was queuing for the toilet when a lady with dishevelled hair, bloodied clothes walked out of a cubicle. For a split second, I thought she must have gone through some sort of violent fight before realising it's a Halloween weekend. Although it's not illegal to dress in scary outfits in Singapore, countries such as New York have banned Squid Game costumes in schools. In countries such as Ireland and Canada, schools have also issued warnings about the Netflix blockbuster and urged parents to pay attention to the content consumed by their children. I suppose that's the drawback of living in a country where firearms are easily accessible. Here in Singapore, a lecturer brought much fun and laughter to her students by donning a triangle guard costume from the Netflix blockbuster Squid Game.

According to Mothership, the lecturer behind the mask was Teeny Teh, a facilitator for the Leisure Events and Entertainment Management module at RP. She was seen in this costume while conducting a home-based lesson with her students over ZOOM. Here's the actual video of her mini-performance:

At the end of the video, the lecturer asked the students to turn on their videos as part of a game. Several students were seen clapping their hands, clearly enjoying this short segment of creative roleplay.

Seeing a ZOOM call like the above makes me wonder about the endless possibilities of a 'metaverse'. Facebook recently revealed their vision of creating a virtual world which allows individuals to dress up in avatars and create whatever environment they want. Now, let's enjoy this world in 2D.
